Kas is not an overseas property hotspot. Turkey has loads of little towns on its vast Mediterranean coast, and many of those are massively popular tourist destinations with a buzzing party atmosphere, bars, restaurants and an airport on the doorstep, which are all earning names as some of the great property hotspots of the day.
Kas however, is quiet and unspoilt, with pristine white beaches seemingly untouched by the influences of man. The closest airport is 100 miles away in Dalaman or Antalya, which makes it primarily the spot for those able to spend longer periods in their second homes.
Luckily, spotting that this would be something the more mature and/or -- some would say -- more sane tourist and property buyer would look for, and so foreigners can still find Kas property for sale fairly readily available, and it has all the shops and restaurants the holiday maker needs.
The authorities know what attracts people to Kas, and is keen to ensure that this appeal is maintained. This means no massive resort developments, apartment tower blocks or noisy nightclubs. However, for this peace, quiet and unspoilt beauty, buyers must pay a little more for property in Kas.
Not that prices are actually higher per se, rather because most of the availability in Kas properties for sale tends to be deluxe villas with private pools and such like -- aimed at the more mature buyer who tends to have a bigger budget and be looking for luxury.
